Portrait and Landscape Photographs, 1883
The Massachusetts Historical Society holds a significant collection of photographs taken by Marian "Clover" Hooper Adams. The collection is comprised of three albums and some loose photographs. One album, containing 48 images taken in 1883, is presented in its entirety below. The display shows the sequence of photographs as Clover assembled them in the album, conveys which photographs Clover chose to pair together, and allows access to large digital images that allow for the close examination of the photographs and the existing handwritten captions on the pages of the album.
