Regional Map of Significant Battles

The digital image below is made from a compliation of two maps that appeared in the Atlas to Accompany the Official Records of the Union and Confederate Armies, 1861-1865, (Washington D.C.: Government Printing Office, 1891-1895). General Topographical Map, Sheet I, Plate 136 (CXXXVI) depicts Pennsylvania, Maryland and part of Virginia; and General Topographical Map, Sheet II, Plate 137 (CXXXVII) depicts Maryland and Virginia. After digital images were made of each map, the two images were merged together, enhanced with the names of four battles and two notable cities, and cropped.
