How did the early American readers learn about the revolutionary events unfolding abroad in the late eighteenth century? What news could they trust, and what could they discard? This talk explores how Americans' sources of news as well as their discourses of authority and authenticity changed over the course of the American, French, and Haitian Revolutions.
