Journaling the Skies: New England's Weather Diarists, 1810-20

During the decade of the 1810s, which was a period of intense temporary climate change, many ordinary people were keeping track of weather and climate events in their daily diaries. MHS holds several of these kinds of diaries, and from them we can gain an insight into how people of New England viewed the environment and the world around them.
