Out of the six Books of Hours at the Massachusetts Historical Society, this is the only one in Flemish. It is likely from the 15th century. The book was given to the MHS as part of the library of Rev. Robert Cassie Waterston, a clergyman in Boston. Anna Cabot Lowell Quincy Waterston, Robert’s wife, may have been the force behind their collecting this item, given her particular interest in medieval history.
