Restrike, probably by the Paris Mint, before 1842. Numismatic collection, Julian NA-1. This medal commemorates a naval victory in 1779, under the leadership of John Paul Jones.

Last of the Comitia Americana medals awarded for victories in the Revolution, this was the only naval medal for that conflict. John Paul Jones received a gold medal; the above is a restrike from the original dies.
